    Dental Hygenist Visits Preschool

    Our youngest students enjoyed a fun visit from Dental Hygenist Missy Taylor on Pajama Day! Mrs. Taylor taught the classes about proper care of their teeth and what to expect when visiting the dentist. Students then were able to practice brushing teeth on some adorable stuffed animals. Each student was able to take home a goodie bag of items to help them keep their teeth clean and healthy at home. Thank you for the exciting and educational visit, Mrs. Taylor!

  • Grade 5 Visits New Britain Museum of American Art

    Mr. Gritter’s Grade 5 students learned a critical process of reading through analyzing poems, paintings, memes, and photographs. They also learned strategies for creating meaning in poetic language, and paired poetry with visual art. The class visited the New Britain Museum of American Art to put their new skills into action!

Lila's willingness to participate in the life of the TMS Upper School in every aspect truly sets her apart.   • A Patriotic Debate

    Mrs. Potts' 4th grade has been studying about the causes of the American Revolutionary War in class. They were posed the question: Should the colonists become independent from Great Britain? They each picked a side, wrote their speech, and passionately debated in favor of their side. Corresponding hand-made flags added to the excitement. In the end, votes towards fighting for independence slighty edged out not going to war with Great Britain. Go Patriots!

    Our youngest Lower School students celebrated the 100th Day of School! Students decorated shirts with 100 items and participated in fun 100th day activities, including a fashion runway and fun 100-themed challenges and activities. Congratulations on 100 days of learning!

    Today our Junior and Sophomore Bible class led Upper School Chapel on the topic of Faith. Using Paul's letter to the Romans, students encouraged one another to grow in their faith, why faith is important and how to live by faith. Student-led Chapels are a special tradition at The Master's School that allow for students to speak about topics that are important to them.

  • Students Learn About Chinese Heritage and Culture

    In honor of Chinese New Year, TMS Board member and current parent Angel Yang recently spoke at Upper and Middle School chapels about her Chinese heritage and about Christianity in China. She also met with Academy students to talk about her family’s tradition of making dumplings. Students were able to learn the art and then taste the delicious end results!

  • Eagles win "Soup-er Bowl" by a landslide in Middle School food drive!

    Over the past couple of weeks, Middle School students collected non-perishable food items during their “Soup-er Bowl” campaign and these items will be sent to help hurricane victims in North Carolina. Students placed their items in the box of the team they predicted would win this year’s Super Bowl.

  • Civics Class Conducts Mock Trial

    Mrs. Frey’s Civics class conducted a Mock Trial to conclude their semester. This was an opportunity for students to put theory into practice. This semester, students have studied the three branches of government: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The trial, "U.S. versus Dominique Stephens", was the students' opportunity to exhibit all that they learned about the law in society and how to present a case to a judge and jury. Several underclassmen participated in the experience as jury members and other key court officials while other students and teachers sat in on the trial to witness the excitement.

    The grade 7 science class conducted a lab that explored how exercise (increased muscle activity) affects the rate of cellular respiration. Cellular respiration is a chemical reaction that occurs in your cells to make energy. Carbon dioxide production can be measured by breathing through a straw into a solution of bromothymol blue.
